About the Barton and Tredworth Community Trust

The Barton and Tredworth Community Trust is a voluntary organisation, which means that it is run by a voluntary management committee. All the members of the management committee are residents of the Barton and Tredworth electoral ward of the city. It is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, and operates on a not-for-profit basis. Members of the Trust give their time freely for the benefit of local residents without financial remuneration/payment.

Barton and Tredworth Community Trust

The Trust is management by a committee elected annually by its members who are drawn form its locality to reflect the diversity and richness of the Barton and Tredworth area of the city.
The primary aim of the Trust is to improve the quality of life for people living in its area of benefit, through education/training and the provision of leisure/recreation facilities for all with particular regard to the elderly and the younger members of the community.
In order to further the aims of the Trust and to ensure that it remains a vehicle for regeneration in the Barton and Tredworth area of the city, it requires commitment from the local community and active participation from its membership. The Trust actively encourages membership from the young and the elderly as they are currently under-represented within the organisation. In addition, the Trust is actively seeking complementary projects/partnerships with local voluntary organisations, statutory agents and community groups to further its long term aims and objectives within the area.
